Android 14 (ATV14) firmware update
Status
Android 14 ("ATV14") firmware update is available for the following Dune HD media player models:
Dune HD Premier 4K Pro,
Dune HD Homatics Box R 4K Plus,
Dune HD Duo Cinema 8K (Android TV module).
The currently available ATV14 firmware version is v14.8.7475.
By Google rules, this firmware update is mandatory and will be
automatically installed on all devices. It cannot be skipped or canceled.
Mote: ATV11/ATV12 firmware are discontinued. There will be no ATV11/ATV12 firmware updates.
How to install
ATV14 firmware is expected to install automatically via OTA (over-the-air) online update. It may take some time. Please wait.
Note: Dune HD can not distribute firmware updates as files, because it is not
allowed by Google policy.
After update
If you media player has been updated to ATV14 firmware:
- To prevent potential issues, it is recommended to completely power off
the media player: disconnect the power cable, wait 20 seconds, then
reconnect the power cable.
- To prevent potential issues, it is recommended to reset the media player
to factory settings. Some users reported various issues after updating to
the ATV14, which were resolved after a factory reset. To perform a factory
reset: go to "System Settings - Device Preferences - About - Factory
Reset". After that, install the "DUNE" app from Google Play.

Advantages
ATV14 firmware has the following advantages over ATV11 firmware:
- Support for DTS HD HRA, DTS HD MA, DTS X bitstream passthrough.
- Support for AFR (Auto Frame Rate) in Android apps. This support is provided only for apps which use Android Frame Rate API. Compatible apps include Dune HD Media Center, Netflix, SmartTube and some others.
- Support for integer 24.0 / 30.0 / 60.0 framerates, in addition to previously supported fractional 23.976 / 29.97 / 59.94 framerates. This support is available only for Dune HD Media Center and apps which use Android Frame Rate API.
- Better support for automatic switching between SDR / HDR / Dolby Vision.
- Various improvements in system settings for video and audio.
- Enhanced security and privacy with the updated Google security patches.
- Some other fixes and improvements.
Known Issues
ATV14 firmware has the following known issues:
- Files which use the old VC-1 video codec are not supported in the ATV14
firmware version v14.8.7475. It is expected that this video codec will
become supported in next ATV14 firmware updates.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any strange problems or instabilities after updating to
ATV14, please try the following solutions:
- Disconnect and reconnect power, all cables and all devices:
- Disconnect the power cable from the media player.
- Disconnect all other cables from the media player.
- Disconnect all USB and storage devices from the media player.
- Disconnect the power cable from the TV and A/V receiver.
- Wait 20 seconds.
- Reconnect the HDMI cable to the media p;layer.
- Reconnect other cables and USB and storage devices to the media player if needed.
- Reconnect the power cable to the TV and A/V receiver.
- Reconnect the power cable to the media player.
- Factory Reset:
- Go to "System Settings - Device Preferences - About - Factory Reset".
- After that, install the "DUNE" app from Google Play.
- If you use Premier 4K Pro, and the front panel display does not work:
- Uninstall the "DUNE" app and reinstall it from Google Play.
- Enable the setting "System Settings - Accessibility - DUNE".
