Software updates for Netflix-certified Dune HD media player models
Because of Netflix and Google certifications and the use of a
Netflix-precertified platform, software updates for these models are
handled differently from other Dune HD media player models. Software
updates are split into two parts: Dune HD media center app updates and
firmware updates.
- Dune HD media center app updates:
- Instead of firmware updates, Dune HD usually brings improvements to
these media player models by updates of Dune HD media center
app.
- These app updates can be released more frequently and it is possible to
easily switch between old and new app versions.
- Firmware updates:
- Firmware updates pass through a long Google/Netflix certification, and
usually are not expected to be frequent.
- When a firmware update is available, the media player will
automatically detect the update and suggest to download and install it.
- There is no easy way how you can roll back from a newer firmware to an
older firmware version on your own.
- NOTE: It is not recommended to try to update firmware
in any other ways, install firmware versions obtained from any other
sources, or firmware updates obtained from other brands. Even if you manage
to do it technically, it may damage the operation of the media player and
Dune HD media center. It may be not easy to restore the original firmware
and the warranty may be voided.

Fix for "Unable to reach Google servers" problem
If "Set up remote buttons" function fails with "Unable to reach Google servers" error, you can fix this problem by installing the following APK file:
