• 8K models: Added setting "Setup / Audio / Sample rate switch delay". It fixes the problem that beginning of audio files could be not heard because of HDMI audio sample rate switching takes some time (when native audio sample rate is used and audio file sample rates is different from 48 kHz). The default value is 700 ms, which seems to be enough for most AVR and TV models. Depending on the used AVR / TV model, it may be needed to choose a different value.

• 8K models: Bugfix: When native audio sample rate was enabled, playback of 44.1 kHz audio files sometimes could stutter right after boot.

• 8K models: Bugfix: Specific Dolby Vision files could stutter.

• 8K models: Bugfix: When playing CUVA HDR video files, playback could freeze or crash.

• 8K, AV1 4K models: Non-relevant settings in "Setup / Audio" menu are now grayed out for conveniency (same as in "Setup / Video" menu).

• 8K, AV1 4K models: Bugfix: DTS HD and DD+ audio tracks in MP4 files were not recognized in some cases.

• 8K, AV1 4K models: Bugfix: Specific MPEG TS files could not be played.

• 8K, AV1 4K models: Bugfix: Specific BD ISO files could not be played.

• 8K, AV1 4K models: Bugfix: Auto resolution switching did not work properly in some cases.

• All models: A folder in builtin memory now can be added to My Collecton. This is useful in particular for cloud drive plugins which use builtin memory for mounting cloud drives. Small other GUI and performance improvements useful for cloud drive plugins.

• All models: Bugfix: When showing total / used / free space on a drive, wrong values could be shown in some cases.

• All models: Bugfix: The information about playback position could be not saved when switching the media player off. Now it is remembered before power off, on pause, and every 5 minutes during playback.

• All models: For developers: Improved support for running scripts from "FS_PREFIX/config/boot" folder.

• All models: For developers: The file "/tmp/run/shutdown_killall.txt" can be used by plugins to register processes to be killed before system reboot or power off.

• All models: Small GUI impovements and fixes.

• 8K models: Added setting "Setup / Audio / HD audio bitstream". When set to "Disabled", it forces conversion of HD audio to SD audio. Conversion of EAC3 to AC3 is also supported. For TrueHD, conversion to AC3 is supported only for M2TS/BDMV/ISO files formats. This function can be useful for example when using S/PDIF audio output or when using AVR w/o HD audio support.

• 8K models: Added setting "Setup / Audio / HDMI audio". When set to "Disabled", switches HDMI audio output off.

• 8K models: Added setting "Setup / Audio / SPDIF audio". When set to "Disabled", switches SPDIF audio output off.

• 8K models: Added setting "Setup / Audio / Disable USB audio". When set to "Yes", prevents switching to USB audio output when USB audio device is connected.

• 8K models: Added setting "Setup / Video / CEC / Media player remote controls AVR volume" (same as in previous models). When enabled, "V+" and "V-" buttons on the remote will control the volume of the AVR via HDMI CEC. By default, it is disabled.

• 8K models: Added setting "Setup / General / Screen saver" (same as in previous models).

• 8K models: Added setting "Setup / Misc / Power Management / Fan".

• 8K models: Added setting "Setup / Applications / Root". It can be used to enable/disable Android "root" access (also known as "SuperSU"). By default, it is disabled. When "root" is enabled, it allows Android apps to get extended "root" access to the box. Some Android apps may need it to provide advanced functions. Note: do not enable it unless you understand why you need it. When it is enabled, do not use Android apps which write directly into flash memory of the media player, such apps may damage the media player (with warranty voided).

• 8K models: Improvement: In BD Menu playback mode, RETURN should be pressed twice in order to stop the playback.

• 8K models: Minor improvements in firmware upgrade function.

• 8K models: For developers: Added support to execute FS_PREFIX/config/boot/* scripts on boot.

• 8K models: For developers: Added support to customize "httpd.conf" configuration file for the built-in HTTP server by putting this file into /tmp or FS_PREFIX/config directories.

• 8K models: For developers: Improvements in STB JS API (some missing APIs to control STB settings added).

• 8K models: Bugfix: In some cases, "Sources" could show wrong list of available storage devices (several different problems fixed).

• 8K models: Bugfix: Ethernet could stop working sometimes.

• All models: Special performance improvements for handling of cloud drive mounts in file browser. CloudDrive2 (aka "CD2", a cloud drive solution popular in China) and RClone mounts are automatically recognized. For such mounts, file browser now works much faster. Besides, advanced file browser visualization features (showng movie information) are disabled in order to ensure the best performance.

• All models: Background indexing of My Collection is now better handled (more properly paused) during media playback.

• All models: Improved visualization of TV episodes in GUI in some cases.

• All models: Added "3D" category to My Collection.

• All models: Various improvements in media tags detection. In particular, improved detection of "VC-1", "V9", "AV1", "3D" and video resolution tags.

• All models: Added "30 seconds" option to "Setup / General / Screen saver" setting.

• All models: For ".txt", ".m3u", ".nfo" files, POP UP MENU / "View Text" action is now available. It shows the file content in the built-in file viewer.

This firmware is a small update with a few fixes, improvements and new features. Other problems reported by the first users of this new model are being worked on and fixes for them are expected in next firmware updates.

• Big change: integrated a lot of different patches from a newer Amlogic SDK; these patches fix various problems related to video decoding, HDMI handling and other things. If you had some video decoding problems on the previous firmware, check if this firmware helps. If this new firmware breaks something, check if rollback to the previous firmware helps. (The issue with some YouTube 4K HDR VP9 clips is not solved yet.)

• Added: Now it is possible to disable HDCP (by default it is enabled). Can be used this way: go to "Setup / System Settings / About / Android TV OS build", press "ENTER" 7 times, then go to "Setup / System Settings / Device Preferences / Developer options / HDCP checking", choose "Never check". If you have some unexpected problems with HDMI connection, such as disappearing picture or too long video mode switching, try to disable HDCP to see if it helps. If you do not use any commercial video services which require HDCP, you can also disable HDCP.

• Added: Setup / Misc / Display / Display brightness.

• Added: Setup / Misc / Display / LED brighness.

• Improved: When connecting a new storage (such as USB HDD or internal HDD) (or after formatting a connected storage), system Android folders are not created any more in the root folder of this storage.

• Improved: When playing TV channels, and timeline is shown, a hint "ENTER = PAUSE" is also shown.

• Fixed: Video playback could be not resumed correctly after returning from screensaver (or switching to and from another Android app).

• Fixed: In IPTV playback mode, the new feature of pausing by ENTER button could work wrongly. ALso, now a hint about this feature is shown.

• Fixed: During playback, FF/REW indication could be shown in a wrong way (such as duplicate icons shown).

• Minor other fixes and improvements.

This firmware is a small update which includes small UI improvements and features and also some bug fixes. Other problems reported by the first users of this new model are being worked on and fixes for them are expected in next firmware updates.

• Added: "Setup / Applications / Widget / Show widget" setting can now be used to hide the clock widget (as in previous models).

• Added: "Setup / Misc / Power management / Auto HDD sleep on inactivity" setting can now be used to spindown each connected HDD automatically when it is not used (as in previous models).

• Added: UI hint about POP UP MENU button is now shown at screen bottom in mains screens (as in old UI styles).

• Added: UI hint about POP UP MENU button is now shown at screen bottom also in the new list customization dialogs.

• Added: In plugins, actions corresponding to color buttons are now shown in POP UP MENU (as in previous models).

• Added: "Setup / Playback / Control / UP/DOWN buttons in time seek" setting can now be used to restore the old behavior of UP/DOWN buttons in time seek bar (change playback position by +1/-1 minute) (as in r21 and older firmware versions).

• Added: "Setup / Playback / Control (TV) / LEFT/RIGHT buttons for TV" setting can now be used to control the behavior of LEFT/RIGHT buttons in TV channels playback mode. The default setting is now "Time seek", which corresponds to the old behavior (as in r21 and older firmware versions). All TV-related playback control settings moved into a new "Control (TV)" setup menu section.

• Added: In IPTV playback mode, the pause/resume function is now available also by a press of LEFT or RIGHT button (which will show the timeline) and then a press of ENTER button. The same behavior now also works in other playnack modes. (Useful when using remotes without PLAY/PAUSE button.)

• Improved: In archive IPTV playback mode, the front panel display now shows clock (like when playing Live TV) instead of useless counter.

• Fixed: When playing IPTV streams, wrong HDMI color depth could be used.

• Fixed: When playing IPTV streams, unneeded HDMI resyncs could happen.

• Fixed: It was not possible to delete the preinstalled Miracast app.
