Alternative RusHD firmware for Dune HD Ultra
Main page
Key Features
- HD video files playback:
- Playback of most widely-used video file formats (including
MKV/H.264, MKV/VC1). (Not really a distinctive feature, but rather
a must-to-have feature; however, it is hoped that there is already
a slightly better (in average) support for playback of "hard"
files, such as high-bitrate MKV/VC1, in comparison with Syabas
firmware.)
- DVD playback:
- Playback of region-protected/encrypted DVD-video disks.
- Playback from arbitrary media:
- DVD disks in internal/external DVD-drive.
- DVD disks copied as a folder or as an ISO-image (stored on the
internal hard disk, USB disk, network).
- A better user interface:
- "FullHD" GUI quality.
- Pixel-to-pixel graphics in 1920x1080 mode (no upscaling of
low-resolution graphics).
- Antialiased fonts (also used for rendering text subtitles
during video playback).
- Better general GUI responsiveness:
- The GUI is not based on Web-Server + Web-Browser approach,
and instead renders graphics directly to the Sigma chip, so
there is a much quicker response in case of most user
actions.
- More usable/convenient file browser:
- All available media-sources/folders/files are represented as
a single unified tree.
- No need to do an extra step of choosing
video/audio/photo/other file type.
- Fast and convenient navigation across folders.
- A better support for working with folders containing a big number
of files (instead of breaking the list of files into pages, a
convenient scrolling through the entire list of files is
supported).
- A better support for files manipulation, including:
copy/move files/folders from/to any storage (internal hard disk,
DVD drive, USB, network), statistics/progress indication during
copying, possibility to stop copying (a partial file copy can be
kept or deleted), recover files from broken CD/DVD media, delete
files/folders, create a new folder, rename files/folders,
evaluate file read performance.
