File browser allows to browse the hierarchy of available folders and files. At the top level, you start working with the root folder named "Media Sources", which contains subfolders corresponding to all storages attached to the player and all configured network storages.
In the file browser, the following remote control buttons are available:
ENTER Right |
Open a folder (when a folder is chosen). Playback a file (when a file of type video/audio/image is chosen). Playback a DVD-video disk (when DVD-drive with an inserted DVD-video disk is chosen, or ".iso"-file with the image of a DVD-video disk is chosen). Launch the firmware update function (when a file with a firmware image is chosen). |
RETURN Left | Return to the parent folder. |
Up |
Choose the previous file/folder in the list. Move the cursor to the current folder path area. |
Down |
Choose the next file/folder in the list. |
|
Choose the file in the beginning of the currently shown page / go page
up. |
| Choose the file in the end of the currently shown page / go page down. |
SELECT | Mark/unmark the chosen file/folder, then choose the next file/folde in the list. |
PLAY |
Playback the chosen file (when a file of type video/audio/image is
chosen). Playback a DVD-video disk (when a folder containing a copy of a DVD-video disk is chosen (the folder should contain "video_ts" subfolder)). Playback all files in a folder (recursively, in loop mode, in some random order) (when a folder is chosen). Playback all marked files (no-loop mode (play all files once), in some random order) (when some files are marked). |
MENU |
Show context menu listing available additional commands for the chosen
file/folder and for the current folder. The following commands can be
performed using the context menu:
|
SETUP | Switch to the setup menu. |
MODE | Switch to the safe video mode menu. |
EJECT | Open/close the door of the internal DVD drive. |
To perform operations on multiple files/folders, you can "mark" these files/folders. Marking can be performed using either the remote button "SELECT", or using context menu commands.
It is possible to mark files/folders belonging only to a single parent folder. On entering a different folder, the information about marks is reset.
Copying and moving files/folders can be done using so called "clipboard", which works in the same way as clipboard in Windows:
Commands "copy", "cut", "paste" can be performed using the context menu.
When copying or moving a folder, its entire content is copied, including all nested subfolders and their content.
To copy or move multiple files/folders, you can mark these files/folders.
When moving files/folders in the scope of a single partition of a single storage, no actual data copying takes place, files/folders are moved to the new location practically immediately. When copying files/folders between different partitions or different storages, files/folders are first copied into the new location, and then removed from the old location.
You can enter the setup menu only from the file browser; during playback of files/DVD-disks, you can not enter it.
The remote button "MODE" allows to perform a quick configuration of the video output w/o the use of the setup menu (necessary when the video output is configured incorrectly and there is no picture shown).
The button "MODE" works only in the file browser mode; during playback of files/DVD-disks, the button does not work. To be sure that you are in the file browser mode: switch off the player, switch on the player, wait until the player startup finishes ("READY" message should be displayed on the front panel indicator).
After pressing the "MODE" button, you get into so called "safe video mode" mode. In that mode, you can use the remote buttons "1", "2", "3", "4", "5" to switch between the following video output configurations:
1 | Composite/S-Video/Component, PAL |
2 | Composite/S-Video/Component, NTSC |
3 | HDMI, 480i 60Hz |
4 | HDMI, 720p 60Hz |
5 | HDMI, 1080i 60Hz |
To exit the "safe video mode" mode after succesful video output configuration, press the remote button "ENTER". If needed, you can perform a more precise video output configuration using the setup menu.
You can connect network storages to the player using SMB and NFS protocols. You can connect an arbitrary number of network storages. Each connected network storage is represented in the root folder of the file browser ("Media sources") as a special folder, called "network folder".
To create a new network folder (i.e. to connect a network storage):
To change the settings of a network folder:
To delete a network folder:
