Dune HD Pro One 8K Plus

This firmware is a small update with a few fixes, improvements and new features. Other problems reported by the first users of this new model are being worked on and fixes for them are expected in next firmware updates.

• Big change: integrated a lot of different patches from a newer Amlogic SDK; these patches fix various problems related to video decoding, HDMI handling and other things. If you had some video decoding problems on the previous firmware, check if this firmware helps. If this new firmware breaks something, check if rollback to the previous firmware helps. (The issue with some YouTube 4K HDR VP9 clips is not solved yet.)

• Added: Now it is possible to disable HDCP (by default it is enabled). Can be used this way: go to "Setup / System Settings / About / Android TV OS build", press "ENTER" 7 times, then go to "Setup / System Settings / Device Preferences / Developer options / HDCP checking", choose "Never check". If you have some unexpected problems with HDMI connection, such as disappearing picture or too long video mode switching, try to disable HDCP to see if it helps. If you do not use any commercial video services which require HDCP, you can also disable HDCP.

• Added: Setup / Misc / Display / Display brightness.

• Added: Setup / Misc / Display / LED brighness.

• Improved: When connecting a new storage (such as USB HDD or internal HDD) (or after formatting a connected storage), system Android folders are not created any more in the root folder of this storage.

• Improved: When playing TV channels, and timeline is shown, a hint "ENTER = PAUSE" is also shown.

• Fixed: Video playback could be not resumed correctly after returning from screensaver (or switching to and from another Android app).

• Fixed: In IPTV playback mode, the new feature of pausing by ENTER button could work wrongly. ALso, now a hint about this feature is shown.

• Fixed: During playback, FF/REW indication could be shown in a wrong way (such as duplicate icons shown).

• Minor other fixes and improvements.

This firmware is a small update which includes small UI improvements and features and also some bug fixes. Other problems reported by the first users of this new model are being worked on and fixes for them are expected in next firmware updates.

• Added: "Setup / Applications / Widget / Show widget" setting can now be used to hide the clock widget (as in previous models).

• Added: "Setup / Misc / Power management / Auto HDD sleep on inactivity" setting can now be used to spindown each connected HDD automatically when it is not used (as in previous models).

• Added: UI hint about POP UP MENU button is now shown at screen bottom in mains screens (as in old UI styles).

• Added: UI hint about POP UP MENU button is now shown at screen bottom also in the new list customization dialogs.

• Added: In plugins, actions corresponding to color buttons are now shown in POP UP MENU (as in previous models).

• Added: "Setup / Playback / Control / UP/DOWN buttons in time seek" setting can now be used to restore the old behavior of UP/DOWN buttons in time seek bar (change playback position by +1/-1 minute) (as in r21 and older firmware versions).

• Added: "Setup / Playback / Control (TV) / LEFT/RIGHT buttons for TV" setting can now be used to control the behavior of LEFT/RIGHT buttons in TV channels playback mode. The default setting is now "Time seek", which corresponds to the old behavior (as in r21 and older firmware versions). All TV-related playback control settings moved into a new "Control (TV)" setup menu section.

• Added: In IPTV playback mode, the pause/resume function is now available also by a press of LEFT or RIGHT button (which will show the timeline) and then a press of ENTER button. The same behavior now also works in other playnack modes. (Useful when using remotes without PLAY/PAUSE button.)

• Improved: In archive IPTV playback mode, the front panel display now shows clock (like when playing Live TV) instead of useless counter.

• Fixed: When playing IPTV streams, wrong HDMI color depth could be used.

• Fixed: When playing IPTV streams, unneeded HDMI resyncs could happen.

• Fixed: It was not possible to delete the preinstalled Miracast app.

The first version which was available via online update and which could be really used.
